Maglić is Dinaric Mountain on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The highest peak of the mountain is Veliki Vitao (2396 meters) which is located in Montenegro, while the peak of Maglić is the highest in Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and it’s located at an altitude of 2386 meters.

If you translate Maglic it is like the Foggy mountain, and an older name was Gromovnik-Thunder Mountain.

08:00 Breakfast at the camp

08.00 Breakfast is the most important meal, especially if you decide to go mountain climbing. Our recommendation is to have strong traditional breakfast. Pack your stuff and photo equipment, put them in our off-road vehicles and we can go climbing on mighty Maglić mountain. The road to the start point is one part a highway and the other a tight mountain safari road trou virgin forest Perucica.Where we stop for view point, waterfall Skakavac and old untouched unesco protected forest Perucica. We drive for an hour to a high ground area, a plateau called Prijevor where we make a break for taking photos.From national park viewpoint tower, and refresh on cold and fresh mountain drinkable water spring Studenac.

10:00 Hiking from Prijevor to Trnovacko lake

10.00 From plateau Prijevor, we continue hiking on foot, and a hiking trail to the mountain peak lasts for about 4 hours. We are going to have more short breaks and one longer on the Trnovačko Lake where we will have a snack. As you are approaching the peak, magical views will be visible while other mountain peaks come from afar. Like Volujak, Bioč, Volujak, Trnovacki Durmitor, Vucevo, Zelengora, Perucica-virgin forest, Tara River Canyon, Piva River Canyon and Lake, Durmitor mountains, Ljubisnja, Jahorina Mountain, Treskavica, Bjelasnica and many…because it is a great view on a clear day from highest mountain peak of Bosnia & Herzegovina

15:00 Top of Maglic

15.00 The road itself is not so demanding but it requests a great physical readiness. As you are conquering the peak of Maglić, its beauty pervades you. It’s an incredible feeling to breathe in the fresh air as you stand on the top of this beauty of Dinarske Mountains which is part of Dinaric Alps and Viadinarica hiking trail. Full of impressions, we go back to plateau Prijevor by our vehicles.

18:00 Short break at Prijevor, return to camp

18.00 A short break on plateau Prijevor before we enter the vehicles and drive back to start camp.

19.00 Dinner
